Hi, Cindy. Oh, sure, I'm sure at least most of us really want our books in the collection, and some of us, if not many, probably scan specifically for Bookshare. I'm one of those. Out of those, there are some of us who really need the credit, so we do the best we can to make the validator's job easier so there won't be any major issues holding the book back. I know I try to do that, and as in the last book I submitted, if I see anything that might need clarifying, such as the copyright, I try to say something to the validator about that. Take care. Julie Morales Children are fragile. Handle with prayer. --Unknown ----- Original Message ----- From: "Cindy" <popularplace@xxxxxxxxx> To: <bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, December 29, 2005 9:03 PM Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: scanners' feelings I don't scan any more, and I don't know for sure what answers you will get. I suspect that some of the scanners on this list would like to see their books get into the collection, but I know of at least two people, I think not on this list, who don't care. I don't think they even realize that they won't get credit if the books aren't approved--or maybe they don't care about the credit. the books they scanned are not pre-validated or even had the basic checking done, in one case, before being submitted. As to other scanners being worried about their books sitting on the download list and not being validated, they must not care a whole lot or, after several months, they'd take them and validate them themselves.
