Hi Kasondra,

It sounds like you have the most common form of synesthesia, a blending of 2 disparate senses, where letters and digits have colors. My daughter has it too, and she KNOWS that a's are red, b's are orange, c's are yellow, etc. There's a book (actually 2 editions) called Synesthesia written by Richard Cytowic.
Someone was going to submit it, but I don't think it ever was. But I believe there are websites where you can learn more about it. There's a group in London studying it too. I remember my daughter filled out a form for them, to be used in their research. There's also a theory that everyone is born with synesthesia but as we mature, the sensations are usually separated. Hard to prove that one way or the other.

 Hi Guys,

There was something in the original post about blind people visualizing
Braille characters with colors. I have always done that. The letter u is
blue, and l is a shade of orange, and a is white. I see colors, so this is
not a stretch. I see print letters in very much the same way. I also
visualize numbers, days of the week, months, and other concepts. I don't
think I have ever tried to explain this to anyone before, but I have done it
since I was very young. By the way, I use the same visualizations whether I
am working in Spanish or English. Well, here are my weird thoughts.
