Alyssa, it is unfortunate that you had such an experience. However, the person
who responded may have had a bad day, may have thought you knew more than you
did at the time, may have tried to answer you in haste and bungled the job.
The thing to remember in any online community is that people are people
wherever you find them, some are nice, some are not nice, some are grumpy and
some, a few, are evil.

Two, email is one of the very worst vehicles of communication at times because
you cannot tell what a person really means. the smile in the voice doesn't
come across. The leaning forward to indicate listening can't be felt. The
tone of helpfulness or sarcasm or anything else may not come across in the
person's writing. If you think you were insulted, read the message a couple of
times, then, ask for clarification. <smiling with twinkle> That, of course,
is easier said than done.

Also, the reaction of one person should never deter you from doing something or
being something, or attaining something you really want. If you are determined
to accomplish something, and especially if you are doing it for somebody else,
tell the whole world to go fly a kite if you have to do so. You know you're
supposed to do whatever it is, so, you do it, and to blazes with anyone who is
rude or hasty.

Now of course, what you could do is ask the churl you encountered to clarify
and to give you the info you asked for, but since this list and many others are
full of helpful people, I'd just wait for the next person to come along. Why
aggravate yourself? Leaven your days with humor and confidence, and you can't
go wrong.

Hmmm, BTW, if it was I who was grumbly, I am sometimes, accept my apology.

Ann P.
