That's why I try to let prospective proofers know what I did and didn't do with a particular book. ----- Original Message ----- From: Jill O'Connell To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, August 06, 2010 11:59 AM Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: rejected two books. Not only can but should. The days when Bookshare wanted scans, no matter of what quality, are gone. and in my opinion,, the burden of finding missing words shouldn't be placed on the proofreader. The scanner should read the book he scans. ----- Original Message ----- From: robert tweedy To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, August 06, 2010 8:02 AM Subject: [bksvol-discuss] rejected two books. I rejected two books marked for murder and silent protector. These books where held for someone else but that person had their name taken off. The submitter didn't hold down the book firmly and didn't leave their email address so I have always thought this and maybe I am wrong but a lot of proof readers don't have time to get a book where there is junk on every page where the submitter didn't hold down the book so why proof readers take their time to clean up the books? Yes we need to do that too but the submitters can do it too. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- No virus found in this incoming message.
