Hi, You're more than welcome to correct my spelling, but typically you probably won't see many errors, as I run a spell checker over everything. Names are the toughest, because they can sound exactly like their traditional spellings, and sneak a silent y or ie in there when you're not looking (not complaining, Mayrie, as I think your name is very pretty). That's why I always check the spelling of a name the first time I use it. Because I have friends who spell Carrie as Kerry, David as Dayvid, Lisa as Leesa, and my granddaughter will be Emilie. -----Original Message----- From: bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Grandma Cindy Sent: Monday, March 24, 2008 10:43 PM To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bksvol-discuss] question re spelling I have never, or very, very rarely, corrected anyone's spelling in these posts, unless it was a misspelled title or author's name, figuring that everyone was doing one's best and spelling the word as he/she heard it. Would you want me to, or should I continue not? Interesting, Mayrie, you did spell stellar correctly. smile It might easily have been misspelled. Also, what about people's names? Quite a few of you misspell Mayrie's name, which is an unusual spelling--very pretty. It's spelled M a y r i e R e n a e Of course I make lots of mistakes because I don't spell-check or even reread my posts. I'd better start, I guess. smile G.Cindy --- Mayrie ReNae <mrenae@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Hi Cindy, > > Poor spelling is certainly not limited to blind people. > Blind people just have to work harder to spell well in these days of > speech.
