Many people's messages have attachments. Unless they are EXE files don't worry
about them. If you don't know what an attachment is don't ever open it. If
you continue to be concerned about them get a virus scanning program. Notice
my message has a message saying it was checked by AVG anti-virus, which is free.
Another thing to do to reduce risk of getting a virus from an E-mail is to turn
off the option to receive HTML messages. I don't have time to explain why
right now. That will make you get an attachment with all HTML messages people
send, but the message you open will be rendered harmless.
