It takes hours and hours to fix die for the. Usually there are lots of other scanos in the text because the contrast is so poor and the book really needs rejecting.

The rank spelling feature in Kurzweil is useful when correcting scanos.
Often scano errors fall into patterns. For instance though die is a word
it is often possible to do a global replace of "with die" "of die" "In
die" and so forth. Rank spelling is just a fancy spell checker with great
built in utilities which makes it easier to spot patterns errors.
