Exactly my question some time ago with a book I scanned that has the page
numbers at the header

Guido,and/or administrators --
If we didn't put the page numbers on the first line (I
thought we'd been told to put them on the first line
then skip a line before the body of the page) but
instead on the second, would they still be stripped?
Wouldit be all right to put them at the bottom of the
page if in the book they're at the top?
