Hi Ann and everyone!
I think we are doing a good job at policing ourselves lately.
If I just want to do things like thank someone for working hard, just to
say I'd like to read what someone is scanning or proofing, or to elaborate
on a thread with a personal story that I think will only really matter to
the particular poster who made me think of something, I e-mail
privately. I don't start off-topic threads either. Perhaps we could all
ask ourselves if the whole list needs or would want to read your thoughts
as I ask myself before posting. I sometimes start a post to the list only
to dump it after a few words, because I decide it wasn't really important
to the whole group or maybe even not anyone.
