Lissi, in Microsoft Word, if you are having lots of blank spaces, you can do a replace for them. Press Ctrl-H and type ^w^w^w to find any place there are three blank spaces in a row and leave the replace with box blank. That will replace three blank spaces in a row with nothing. If it is not spaces but blank lines you would want to do ^p^p^p but I would suggest putting ^p in the replace with box so that you aren't deleting lines that might be between the page numbers and the page break or the page numbers and the text.
