[bksvol-discuss] Re: italics

The MLA Style Sheet  was the standard for publishing as well as schools : secondary, college, advanced degrees. For someone typing, the correct form to indicate something should be italicized was to underline it.  Titles of stories, Plays in collections, Poems,   essays and other items in collections were always in quotation marks as were the titles of songs. Title of Plays  published separately were treated as books and Italicized. The irregular use of capital letters without any clear reason was frowned upon. In spite of all the individualization of style, I still  find that having the MLA  Style Sheet is helpful when verifying that I did something right just as I find myself double check spelling with WordWeb to make certain that a word is not only spelled correctly but means what I think it does. It does not tell us what to do with  web cites but most of the time I have seen them  they have been italicized but even if they were not they serve the same purpose as the name of a book.  Now if I could only find a font which includes  superscript and subscript.
