Well, Bud,
Luckily I have never had this problem, but it seems that it shouldn't be so
difficult to know if a book is already on bookshare. I always check the
list by doing a search by author and by title and then check by the books in
processing list searching for both title and author. Finally, I check
Cindy's books being scanned list. If I can't find a book on any of these, I
let Cindy know I am scanning a book so she can add it to her list. Still,
it seems that there should some day be a one-step process to know if it is
safe to scan a book. As we all know, scanning a book and getting it ready
to submit is a long process.
Don't know what else to say!

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] how to know if a book is on the list
Hi Gang,
I guess I learned something. I sent a book in which wasn't on the list
but it bounced back saying it was already on the list. I checked the list
again and it still wasn't there, so I checked the advanced listing and
sure enough, there it was. My question is, is there some place where we
can just check one list to see if the book is already on the list? Does
the advanced have all the listings including the normal ones we get when
we check in the normal way? It's discouraging to spend hours of time
getting a long book ready like that one was only to find that I should've
checked into it further before going ahead. I guess after four years or
so I am still learning.
