Grace, Let me make a change or two to what I sent you before you post it to Jake's website. I didn't bother to explain that the claimant is the copyright holder since I knew you'd understand that. For short story collections, there's usually someone who's responsible for pulling all the stories together and editing them, and that person owns the copyright for the book. If that's not the case in this instance, then it's my understanding that you'd take the most recent date for one of the stories and use the claimant associated with that date. If you'd like help on what to use, then send me the copyright page from the book offlist, and I'll be glad to help. It worked. For the first time I could check copy right info. Gerald, I would like to post this tip on Jake's site if you don't mind. I believe that this might help others with using the sight with Jaws. Now I have another issue, The book I checked on is a collection of short stories. Flower Girls by various authors. loc.gov shows me each story separately. With the author being the claimant. I assume claimant means copyright holder. Now on the submission form do I just put all the authors? It appears to me that that's the right thing to do. Any comments? I can also include the link on the comments field for Gustavo to verify. Once you specify what you're searching for, you can hit E to find the field where you enter your search string. Remember to drop the initial article from your search string, like the instruction next to the radio button for title says, if you're searching for the book's title. Hitting enter will then take you to another page where you narrow down your search. Hitting X will move you through the search items until you can find what you're looking for since each item is associated with a checkbox. This should probably be a list of authors or titles. Once you find the item (or items) which you're looking for, check that box and hit B to move down to the Submit button and press it. This will normally take you to still another page where you'll want to narrow your search down one more time. The first page would normally narrow the search to the author or title you're looking for while the second will narrow it to the book you're looking for. Occasionally you'll find that the database only contains a single record for your search and this page will be skipped. Again, check the appropriate box, but this time you'll want to hit Shift-B to find the Submit button since it's above the checkboxes. Pressing it will take you to the final page where you can see the info you want. Once you are on the page with the book's copyright info, hitting T should take you to the beginning of the info. The date you're looking for will be the one associated with the publication date. It's also usually found next to the publisher's name. Is there specific steps that need to be taken? I put the title on the search bar and basically got nothing useful. Can anyone help?
