Hi Jen and list.
Personally, since I've upgraded to version 12, I'm reluctant to use .kes format. This is because if something goes wrong with my computer, and I have to force it to shut down, or it randomly decides to restart, the dear little thing, my file gets corrupted. This is probably because I'm using a netbook, and not a more powerful laptop, but I've found that if I only save it in rtf format, in my documents, and the computer does its restart thing, it did that the other day much to my disgust, the file is not lost.
    So, for any of you who use your netbooks as your primary computer...

I might have figured out what I did wrong...I saved it in RTF and then after I finished scanning the whole book, I didn't have a copy saved in K1000 format (can't remember the exact wording).

        I'll try that, but I can find the file name, there's just
        nothing there when I open it.
        I just hope I don't have to scan the whole book again.

            What kind of  computer do you have? Maybe you can do a
            Find for the title and you'll find where on you computer
            (or on a backup disk if you saved to that) the file is.
