Elizabeth, the newest K1000 v9 has better logic for stripping headers.
Try stripping headers with the option 'carefully', it is somewhat less
drastic than in the past.
I will still strip page number, but it usually leaves chapter titles
intact.

My experience with the header stripper in version 8 K1000 is that it
strips
the page numbers with the headers. So I still do it by hand.
