[bksvol-discuss] Re: hats off to our sighted volunteers

I'll take my hat off, and with my heart say thank you to all volunteers,
sighted who correct many obvious errors we cannot see, and to the sightless
ones whom can correct using audio what might not be so apparent when a
visually endowed person looks because of maybe a detail which is spoken
which isn't as obviously "seen" by the eyes. It is an amazing fact to me
that a sighted person would take the time necessary to correct scanning
errors, as it is that we can scan and make more than decent representations
of what is there via our computers, at all. Great job, and the benefits are
mutual; beneficial, one to read more than average books, the other, to have
the books in the first place. :)
Now, did any of that make sense? I tend to get analytical, but the heart
still says, thanks! TO! ALL!

Hello Susan, Cindy, Jamie, Marilyn, and everybody else!

I just want to clutter up the list a little and add my
heart-felt thanks to our able-bodied volunteers. Without you, there
are many books that I work on that could never be of the quality that
they are. I always seem to get books with weird fonts that don't
scan well, handwritten parts of books, and the like. Without your
help, well, Bookshare patrons would miss out on a lot. Thank you from me
too!

Peace,
Mayrie
