The cookbooks printed for NLS do not spell the fractions out, at least they
are not spelled out in Braille. The slash is used and the Braillle math is
in Grade II, not Menmouth Code. Like Cindy, I do not cook that much anymore
and tend to use the recipes I have already collected.

Did you write out the fractions; for instance 1/3 as one third; I think this
is the only way you could get a good translation, at least in braille. Which
cookbook did you validate?
