Hi Jamie, Sorry I took so long, but I had to find a test book, which has the page numbers at the bottom. I validated Bronte by Glyn Hughes, and I thought I could leave a blank line above and below any heading I wanted saved from the stripper: it didn't work. I didn't check every chapter, but I had the heading in my submitted copy and the stripper took it out. I also had "Chapter 1" as a heading and it was stripped. Tricking this stripper is getting to be a nuissance. Did it work? I don't have any way to check, so a test book was the only thing I could think of. Jamie in Michigan Currently Reading - Just Desserts (a Savannah Reid mystery) by G A McKevett
