Hi, Sue and all.  I have great news!  I just did as you suggested and
completely deleted all files pertaining to the previous download and
downloaded one more time.  The last time it didn't make a difference.  But
this time, it worked.  I don't know if doing that made a difference or if
Bookshare took care of a corrupted zip file so quickly.  I'll send them
another report on the on-line form so they will know that all is now well.
Thanks for everyone's help. I don't know what was going wrong, but I'm ever
so glad it's fixed.

Chris,
I had no problem with it.  Have you tried deleting any mention of the book
and then downloading it again?  You probably have, but just wondered.
