Hi Everyone,
If you Google the Chaffee Amendment, all kinds of interesting things come up
including an NLS factsheet which offers a pretty complete explanation of the
copyright law exemption for people who are blind or who have print related
disabilities.
Makes for some interesting reading, and I think most authors will understand
if they are informed.

scanning and uploading copyrighted books to bookshare is not illegal. It is
covered under the Chaffee Ammendment to the copyright laws.
