I think that this and similar questions on the list point out the fact that
the user's software should reflect users personal preferences.
For example, jaws can be made to describe font changes as well as caps
changes. Most folks find it too awkward to hear all these changes so the
default is to have these properties turned off. But, anyone who
wants/needs them can turn them on.
I think the bottom line is to have scanners and validators reflect as much
as is possible what actually shows in a book. Then, if we can get the
bookshare tool to keep it's grimy mits off our books, then the users can
pick those properties they care about.
Just my opinion.

Cindy,
We cannot see the difference in font changes like size.
You could just leave them the same as the font size everything else is.
You don't have to go to that trouble because our speech program won't
read it that way and the braille embosser does the braille as the same
size.
HOpe that helps and will save you time.

Rick's comment about caps is interesting. We've been told that if the
first word or several or sentence or part thereof of a chapter is in caps
we should leave it that way. Also, I put chapter titles and other things
in caps when the book has them that way. Can bookshare change them when
converting to Braille? Can a member who downloads a book in Braille and
doesn't want them change them to lower case?
