Lately I have been scanning rather than proofing, but in my early days of proofing I used to check out several books at a time and just skim over them to decide which one I wanted to work on and then release all the rest. That would be an example of a release that would need no comment.

However, when a book is released, the only people likely to need comments would be volunteers who plan to take it; if you post to the list here that you're releasing it you can also explain why and what needs to be done to it, if anything. I've sometimes seen people post that they're releasing it only because they're not interested in the book, or they found they don't have time now to proof it; also, that it needs page breaks, or there too many scannos and it's nott worth the time to fix ir, andso on.

When you release a book you don't have the opportunity to leave comments. It would be nice to be able to. Melissa Smith On 4/21/2010 2:26 PM, Mayrie ReNae wrote:
Hi Judy, Unfortunately, the releaser of a book has no way to make comments. Only the submitter and final proofreader uploading a book for administration to approve can make comments. That sure would be nice though, to be able to see if someone released a book because they had a
problem with it.
Am I wrong about this? I don't think I've ever been offered an option to release a book and leave comments. I agree, given Jackie's explanation, with Jackie's choice to release the book instead of rejecting it. Many of the experienced proofreaders here are able to easily figure out page numbering problems without it taking very much time. Having a comment added on why it was released would sure be helpful,
though!

read/proofread.
If anybody wants to take another stab at it, it is You may all prophesy by Steve Thompson. I appreciate the effort of the submitter in making this book available and I pray I do not offend anybody by doingthis. Thanks and have a blessed day.To unsubscribe from this list send a blank Email to bksvol-discuss-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx put the word 'unsubscribe' by itself in the subject line.
