Hi,

I think there are two issues here. If you've scanned lots of books anbd need to clea them up, then that's *your* backlog, and you can just keep on scanning in my opinion :). Though its nice to get books off of the step 1 page, if they are going to sit on your hard drives for weeks after constant renews, why not take a book out, edit it, and then download others. So I think what Amber was mentioning previously was with edited books she's scanned, not books that she's downloaded. I get what you're saying though Rui. Couldn't agree more.

Hi everyone:

I realize there is no actual limit on how many books you can take off the
step 1 page at a given time.
 (i hope bookshare addresses that)

But i ask you, can you properly validate 20 books in 7 days?

I know you can renew books for longer than that, however, how many renewals
does it take of those last few books before they get done?

I would ask people to think about not taking out more then, let's say 6 or 7
at the most at a time.

That way, that book is available for anyone to grab at any moment instead of
being the 20TH book on your to do list.

I have seen books that have been renewed 13 and 14 times and this is really
not fair to the original submitter.
A submitter has a reasonable expectation that once a book is grabbed by a
validater, that it will be validated in a reasonable time frame. That
person's book was already in a long list of books once, (step 1 page) and
now by taking out a lot of books at a time, they have gone on to another
long list of books.

Please do not misunderstand, I by no means am trying to discourage
vallidating. I just feel that some people might be bighting off more then
they can chew and it slows down the process for those books.

If you have any questions on this point of view or perhaps just want to call
me an iddiot, i can be reached at rui@xxxxxxxx
