Hello Amber, Not sure which laptop or screen reader you are using but in the upper right-hand corner of your laptop keyboard you have the delete and some other keys. On my sony the key to the right of the F12 key is the num-lock key. When in general mode the num-lock key is off. If you press it once it will turn the number pad on. It will be then located under your right hand. The letter I key will be the number 5. I hope this helps..:D Katie Hill Kaitlyn@xxxxxxxxxxxxx You, who are thirsty, come hither: if, by chance, the fountain fails, The goddess has, by degrees, prepared the everlasting waters. translation by fulcanelli of an inscription on the statue of maitre plerre, which stood on the parvis of Notre-Dame-de-Paris until its removal in 1748 _____ From: bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Amber Wallenstein Sent: Wednesday, May 24, 2006 5:31 AM To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [bksvol-discuss] a question on ASCII characters I have a question on ASCII characters. I am trying to create the degrees symbol and on the MS word website it says for me to hold down the Alt key plus hit 0176. The problem is that you have to do that with the num. pad and I don't have one, because this is a laptop. I also hit insert plus F4 but don't see the degreese symbol. I see a"Degrees Masculine Ordinal" which is not the same thing. any help appreciated.
