Thanks, Gerald, for the list. I'm assuming by wild cards,
you mean the checkbox accessable by hitting the more
button in find and replace tab.

I thought it might be a good idea to list common format characters as a
single tip on Jake's site (i.e. ^l hard return and ^p paragraph marker. Is
there a list in microsoft word help files, or will I have to trust my
