I have no idea about that particular book but in the past I validated books 
with the problem you describe. Parts of sentences were jumbled. words and 
phrases were all over the place.  I copied the phrases and words and pasted 
them onto a separate worddocument. Then, when, in my reading, I came to the 
page or place on the page where they belonged, I pasted them in. I read the 
section and ascertained that it made sense and continued with the book.
I  suspect that the problem was caused by the scanner not pressing  the book 
down firmly enough, especially at the spine, as often the words and phrases 
belonged on the following page.
