Kurzweil has never lost any of my settings during an upgrade. Once I
even wanted it to lose them, but it wouldn't. lol There is a kesi
folder for Kurzweil settings in your application data folder and when
you upgrade it keeps them, and that is true even if you uninstall the
previous version before upgrading. Before installing the new version do
a settings backup from within Kurzweil just to make sure nothing is
lost, but more for your peace of mind than any other reason. I don't
know why it would lose your personal spellcheck dictionary when it never
loses anything else. I see that I have a file called uamerican.txt that
seems to contain the words I added to my spellcheck dictionary.
