Ironically enough, something I find really neat, smile, but was not expecting it, is if you look at the books you have submitted, apparently all of mine are present, you get your most recent submissions first, which is wonderful compared to the old way which was oldest first, and I didn't find this setting in the Modify results thing, smile was looking for it, smile.
But good job Carrie. Shelley L. Rhodes, VRT and ?Reading a book is like rewriting it for yourself. You bring to a novel, anything you read, all your experience of the world. You bring your history and you read it in your own terms. -Angela Carter, novelist and journalist (1940-1992)

People just need to play around with it. I think thiswill be very helpful, especially for those books that are uncategorized. Melissa EVAN REESE wrote:Thanks Carrie. I did some of the testing on this new search engine and pointed out some problems I found with it. Even so, and although it may still have some issues, I said then and I will say again, that this is a really big improvement over what we had before. Faster as well. As some others here have already mentioned, I have also found some books that I was not aware of while doing the testing, and even a useful website that was in a book in the list of excerpts. Luckily they are still in the system, they just don't appear when you search for their titles or authors. I put in 11 books in the Rotten School series by R. L. Stine, which all vanished. When I put them in, I used the workaround of smushing the R.L. together since I got an error using the normal R-space-L author name. It looks like all of the books with that workaround are gone. I managed to restore the 11 Rotten Schools books, and books by C. T. Adams, M. C. Beaton, and J. R. Ward. I'll ask Engineering to restore the rest. If anyone knows the title and author of any books that vanished yesterday, please email the info to me and I'll pass it on to Engineering. Also, Ann P. was correct about using quotes around search terms to limit them to exact matches. I've filed a ticket to put a marker between books that have exact matches and books that sound like the search terms. This may or may not be done in the future... Lissi and I discovered last night that we are unable to find some of our most recent submissions. Also, the number of books that Lissi is listed as having proof read has gone down from over 500 to 489. Somehow, quite a few books have disappeared from the collection, or are not being catalogued by the new search feature, or something else is wrong with it.
