Well, I thought that an hour was a bit long, I have a business type DSL
so it is faster than the average most home users get. I doubt I would
have even tried it on a dial-up connection.

I will zip the file and try again this morning.

I am pretty sure that the progress bar that JAWS is getting those
percentages from is really a fake progress bar. Programmers are
sometimes
too lazy to make them real. The bar is often moving when there is
nothing
else happening and it also often moves really slowly up to something
like
30 percent and then suddenly jumps to 100 percent because it notices
that
the page is finished loading. There may or may not be anything wrong
with
your upload, but base your decision about that on time taken instead of
progress bar behavior.

I have a DSL connection, but still I sometimes go do something else
while
it uploads just so I don't get too impatient. You do have to make sure
you
come back to finish the form when you are uploading a validated book,
though. I've made my computer make a noise when the page is loaded by
assigning the sound to the "complete navigation" event in the sound
scheme.
That way I can even swich focus away from the explorer window and still
know when it needs my attention.
