No, actually once the book is downloaded, you may edit it if you are so
inclined.

I never have actually done so, and I also don't write notes in a book
like some people do--I suppose because I never could do so in the past,
I never do so now.

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: Validating

I've wondered -- Can a person who has downloaded a
book from the collection to read use a replace to
replace errors? replacing "die" with "the" might not
be safe, depending on the book, but in some cases I
would think it would help if it can be done just as it
can be done when validating. For example, the book
I'm validating now has been using "lie" as "he." I'm
pretty sure that he word "lie" is not going to appear,
at least not often, so I replaced whole words only,
lie with he. If I'd downloaded the book from the
collection, would I be able to do that to improve my
reading pleasure or is the content of the book frozen,
as it were, once it's in the collection? Just
curious.
