[bksvol-discuss] Re: Validating

Hi, Dave. OK...so let me see if I have this straight. If someone validates a
book, rejects the original copy and resubmits a different format of the same
copy, the original submitter still gets credit? How could that be if their
copy was rejected? Take care.

Hi Julie,

No you weren't in the final stages of sleep deprivation. This thread has
changed its name 2 or 3 times, but it started as a question about page
breaks not sticking in text files. The book being referred to in the most
recent messages was one off the Step 1 download for validation page, not
one already in the library. It started life as a text file, was converted
to RTF, uploaded as a new submission as RTF, and the original text file was
rejected.
My personal opinion is that this probably isn't a good way to handle it. I
think Bookshare should modify their software to require text files to be
converted to RTF before acceptance, so as to bring them in-line with all
the other file types.
