Hey Scott, if they can find any of the Horrible Histories books, they would be good additions to the collection.

Pedantry and mastery are opposite attitudes toward rules. To apply a rule to the letter, rigidly, unquestioningly, in cases where it fits and in cases where it does not fit, is pedantry... To apply a rule with natural ease, with judgment, noticing the cases where it fits, and without ever letting the words of the rule obscure the purpose of the action or the opportunities of the situation, is mastery. -George Polya, professor of mathematics (1887-1985)

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Updates on Scanning

Folks,

We realize that the practice of inserting "Hold for..." in the scanning list makes finding a book to scan more difficult when using a screen reader. To address this we have submitted a request to our engineers to create an option for sorting on "Hold for" to create lists that consist entirely of books with or without that tag. Fulfillment of these sorts of requests remains somewhat of a mystery even to us in-house. I am not saying that this issue will be resolved soon just that it is on its way to someboay's desk who is capable of resolving it.

Later this week a local used bookstore holds a 25% off sale. Bookshare staff will swoop down on them and bring back new titles for you to scan.
