I totally agree with the below message. Cleaning up a truly awful scan takes an incredible amount of validator time.


Many of the "fair" books are in pretty bad shape. Perhaps it makes sense to clean up a "good" rated book but the "fair" ones? Validators may be fairly often able to just make them good. Please re-scan unless you find a "fair" book which was missrepresented as being "fair".

Each book put back on step 1 pretty much needs to be judged by somebody reading it in the end.

But if the book is of really low quality, it would almost certainly be faster, and easier for the validator, if the book were to be rescanned, particularly if it is rescanned by someone who knows how to use their equipment and software to get the best quality scan. Then the validator would have a much cleaner copy to start with. The rescanning would add time, but I would bet that it would be more than made up for by less cleanup work by the validator.
