Dear Fans of The Travelling Pants Series,

The Fourth Summer of the Sisterhood by  ANN BRASHARES ~



If you haven't read the third installment yet, now's the time, because the 
fourth and last novel in this series is as engrossing or more engaging than the 
first and will walk on to the new books list soon. Lena is attracted to a 
brilliant painter at art school, but what about Cosmo in Greece? Tibby can't 
begin to write her script for film class, is terrified she might be pregnant, 
and might have alienated her soul mate forever. As Bridgit unearths skeletal 
remains and ancient artifacts, she falls in love with aerchiology and a married 
archiologist then tries to help her brother and father who have become 
emotionally paralyzed. Carmen has lost her fire and confidence and has become 
subservient to an engenue hopeful who could undermine Carmen's big chance to 
shine. 



The fourth summer is copyrighted in 2007 so the ink is barely dry. When I went 
book burrowing last week Border's was displaying it prominantly. 



When I was validating Jamie's beautifully scanned file, I noticed an 
announcement on the last page for a contest where the winner and her friends 
win a trip to New York City to meet the author, Anne Brashares. 



The reason I'm telling you about this contest on list is because entries have 
to be received by March 12! Only early birds have a chance at this worm. Thanks 
to Bookshare, we can be among the early birds, but because March twelfth  is 
just around the corner, I wanted anyone interested in giving it a go to have as 
long as possible to round up their 250 words or less. 



Wouldn't it be cool if a young Booksharian won? 



I've paraphrased a few lines of the contest announcement and pasted them below 
with a link in case we've got some high school or college girls or anyone else 
who want to rhapsidise about their circle of friends. 



I trust all of you to recognize this isn't an ad. No money is involved. I'm 
just happy Bookshare gives us a chance to join in the buzz about a book before 
it becomes old news.
