Noel,
I'm sorry, but what are you doing fishing to replace other people's scans?
Three times yesterday I said that I would rectify the problem of the missing
text. I use a document feeder, and while it is generally very reliable, it
does happen that a page can get missed, and that for whatever reason, I
don't catch it when I go through the book. When that happens I am happy to
correct the problem. However, every time I offered to do this, you came
back with an argument as to why you should submit your copy instead. I also
frankly wonder what on earth you are doing downloading scans that have a
rating of excellent, and comparing them line by line to your personal copy.
If you need credits or something, has it never occurred to you to simply
submit a title that hasn't yet been scanned? I would understand your
behavior if my scan had been rated good or fair, but that was not the case.
As to the Italics, I guess I just don't need them to alert me that a pun is
on the way. As we've seen in recent discussions, that is a matter of
personal preference, and I respect your right to have your own opinion.
Also, as a result of those same discussions, in my recent scans, I have
changed my own practices to preserve font attributes so long as they don't
interfere with my ability to proof the text, so that those who share your
opinion can have a copy that includes font attributes. However, Bookshare
currently has no policy regarding font and attribute preservation, so I
hardly see that as grounds for rejecting my scan. Is your next step going
to be to search and replace every bookshare book that doesn't include font
attributes? If so, you've got quite a task in front of you.
As promised, I have submitted a complete copy of the text. My copy was
complete, so I simply inserted blank lines at the top of each page to insure
that the stripper doesn't eat the text again.

In the bookshare copy that I have, there are no italics, at least Kurzweil
doesn't see any in its daisy copy. Not sure if this is by design as far as
bookshare is concerned, but if Bookshare strips those codes, I don't think
that's a good thing.
