"To me, music that breaks your heart is the music that stays with you
forever. It's one thing to be melancholy and one thing to be
sophisticated, but when you get the two of them together in a way
people can relate to, then I think you're on to something. You want
the sophistication to lie in the purity of the sound, the beauty of
the arrangements, and the quality of the performances."-Trumpeter

Dear Courtney,

Though my first peek at face book was narly and overwhelming, I'm not ready for computers to leave me in their e-dust yet. I'd very much appreciate your help off list. Thank you. This list remains a treasure of information, helping new and old members further along.

Always with love,

Lissi

Lissi,

If you ever change your mind about Facebook, I'd be more than glad to
give you a quick tutorial; I had an extremely hard time learning to
navigate as well *smile* It's definitely not something I think will
be a required skill to enjoy Bookshare in the future; I just wanted
you to know the offer was there if you wanted it.

Dear Andy and Booksharian Friends,

About Facebook, I'm with you, Andy. I have no idea how to navigate it. The bits and pieces of conversation I was able to find didn't seem worth the effort, nothing of substance seemed to be said, or it was beyond me and my
computer to get to it.

With my very low partial vision, I didn't become aware of faces until I was a teenager. I knew they had eyes, noses and mouths, but had no idea people
depended on looking at them and looked at them all of the time.

Finally I learned to come as close as possible to appear to make eye
contact, but it's a chore I perform for courtesy, not something that informs
me in any way.

I hope it doesn't make me of less value as a volunteer that I hope not to have to go back to Bookshare's face again. And I hope these lists remain viable, where we can talk in complete thoughts, without the interruptions of constant navigational hops, pictures and graphics or whatever they are, that
have no meaning for us, and strings of links and phrase swapping.

Always with love,

Lissi

Sorry, facebook groups and books about the ADA aren't my thing.

Page
as We Celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the ADA

In case you have not stumbled across it yet Bookshare has a few special items in store up on the Bookshare Facebook page in celebration of the
20th anniversary of the ADA.

We are holding off on a press release until tomorrow but you can discover here one of the secrets. It's a book-a-day featured from the Bookshare
library:

http://www.facebook.com/#!/bookshare

Head on up to the Facebook site and "Like" something. Add your comments
on

the featured book or suggest one that should be added to the collection.
