I took an .ark book from step one and found that each of the first fifty pages has at least several hundred blank lines. I then contacted the submitter to let her know that I planned to reject the book and why. Then, out of curiosity, I converted the book to .rtf. In the .rtf file there were only blank lines and absolutely no text. I then went back to the .ark files and removed a number of blank lines from the first few pages and saved the file as an .rtf file and a .doc file to see if I could salvage the file at all. In both the .rtf file and the .doc file again there were only blank lines. Obviously, I'm going to reject the book, but does anyone have any idea what would cause these problems. The submitter is concerned about how to avoid these problems in future, and I have absolutely no clue. This situation may be similar to Maithe's situation, and if no additional thoughts about solutions are forthcoming I understand. Cat Lover Lori
