Great suggestion. My parents resorted to the cinder block book shelves
too. You can find these at garden stores I think. You can also buy
shelving at household stores, but they do require assembly, and of course,
the instructions are in print and they have pictures, and the language is
semi-English/chinese or English/Korean or English/Spanish. So, I don't
recommend it, unless you're prepared to be an engineer and not read the
manual. I think your cinder block shelving may be the best bet for
convenience and time-saving. If you tell the lumber department at the
household store what you want the boards for, they can saw them to fit.
You will need to measure your space in the house, of course. Then you
probably want them either six or eight feet long. Six would probably be
easier to deal with both in transporting them and in ease of building.
