Does anyone on the list currently have Sharpe's Eagle out for validation?
If they do, I'd appreciate it if they released it as I already put a
great bit of effort into it, and I had submitted it for acceptance,
but as it seems to be out again I assume it was kicked back for some reason.
For me, this stresses the importance of having an automatic
notification go out to the validator if the book is kicked back to
the Step 1 page for any reason. We are re-inventing the wheel here,
as someone else now is started from scratch with the book. It was a
clean scan, but there were a number of missing page breaks, and about
90 section breaks mixed with the other 160 page breaks that needed to
be attended to.
It is especially aggravating as this is the 2nd time the book will
have been in the collection. Prior to this the collection had both a
Daisy and Brf copy, which goes back to the time when separate Brf
files were accepted for their improved transcription, to avoid having
to put them through the transcription software. I believe the Daisy
copy was probably inadvertently purged when someone thought it was a
duplicate, and when it was noticed what happened, the original Rtf
file was placed on the Step 1 page. Now it seems, there is neither a
Brf nor Daisy copy in the collection.
