Hi all,

Julie, you have caused quite a stir with your message. It would help if you could please identify yourself as to your job and function with Bookshare. Just because you have an address at Benetech doesn't mean you can speak with authority in this way without identifying yourself properly! I could, if I so chose, fix my email to make it appear as if I had a Benetech address. This message of yours is not professional, and I erge everyone to calm down and refrain from more postings till we can get this matter sorted out.

It would also be helpful if you could clarify for us just exactly why Bookshare Admin is upset and why? It would further be a great kindness if you would answer the question which is being asked as to whether sending two or three pages to a given proofer is OK? This message came out of the clear blue, without any preparation or clear statement as to how our job is to be done without sending at least portions of books to sighted volunteers who can check them for errors or sending portions of a scan to a proofer who needs a page rescanned.

Julie, you've caused quite a hoodoo here, and I ask that you resend your admonitory letter to us with a modicum of attention paid to making it a professional request, please. This includes a clear statement of your job function, the departments of Bookshare staff which are involved, and a clear statement of what the problem is and how volunteers should address it. Thank you.

Ann P.
