It's not called ScanDisk with Windows XP but you're looking for the button
that says Check for Errors or something like that. It's the same thing. Be
warned, though: If you tell it to check everything, which you should at
least periodically, you'll have to reboot and it can take an eternity. Take

Scan disk and Disk Defragmenter are found under.
My Computer, highlight, the C. Drive, then go to File, then Properties, and
the second "tab" there is called "Tools". Under that you will see
Check for Errors and Disk Defragmenter.
