Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Rescan request - Warrior's Apprentice

If anyone is looking for a book in the collection that needs rescanning,
please consider The Warrior's Apprentice by Lois McMaster Bujold. It is
together with Shards of Honor, in one book. It is science fiction. The
scan is pretty poor, with several errors on each page. A lot of them I
could fix as a proofreader, but some I can't make out at all.
It's a great book! Someone on this list, Elizabeth Aldworth, I think, said
it was the best fiction about a disabled person she'd ever read, and that
argument has merit. It's about a young man with very brittle bones, whose
great dream is to join the military. When he is too frail to pass the
physical requirements, he finds other ways to make his mark. Even with
the bad scan, I can hardly put it down. Thank goodness this was a long
weekend, with lots of time for reading!

This is the first book featuring Miles Vorkosigan, a long series, of which
Bookshare has some, but by no means all.
