I never said they were. But many of these things fall into patterns,
which, as I said before, can be picked up easily by just reading through
the first five pages or so of a book.
I am not talking about submitting totally clean scans at all but a little
cleaning or really scanning setting fixes would help cut down the hand
labor of editing a lot.
