That reminds me of a question I have been meaning to ask:

I know that Bookshare is trying to get more and more authors to send their work directly for publication here. Are they expecting these books which come directly from the author's word processor to have page breaks in them? I know Word puts in "soft" page breaks. Are they enough for the software to do its page numbering for Daisy navigation? If not, then what is Bookshare going to do if they get their wish and get an increasing number of books - all of which would be in excellent quality, obviously - but without hard page breaks? I know the .rtf files I received from one author didn't have page breaks in them that I noticed.

Just wondering.

Hi.

I haven't been having great luck with validating lately. I can't find the page breaks in If Angels Fall, by Mofina. He's a good writer, and this is his first book. The scan looks good.

Constitutional Law is a 1500-page book which seems to break in strange places.

Estate of Mind has problems with the scan, plus page breaks.

Too Many Crooks Spoil the Broth has a lot of scannos.

It's probable that someone has more patience than I do, so I won't reject any of these. They would all be good additions to the collection.

Our major problem seems to be with page breaks.
