Hi Mike,

Well, half-price is always good. And even if OCR takes longer, if it's
better, that saves time. It sounds like you're enjoying the new scanner,
and that's the important thing.

Keep having fun!

Mayrie

The scanner is called an Epson Workforce GT-S50--really catchy, eh.
I'll admit I chose this one because it was about half price ($275)
refurbished directly from Epson. Well also because it can hold 75 pages and
scan both sides with very few jams and is very durable according to the
reviews. rSo far, I am very impressed by the scan quality and how well it's
scans are OCRed, but I'm not impressed by the speed. I'm sure the less
expensive Canon scanner that I kept knocking over until it refused to work
any more was faster (at least before I broke it). There are reviews that
say it can be sped up, I just have to find the right settings. I'll let you
know how it goes after I've had it for a while.
At least the base is not as narrow, plus it has a paper tray that sticks out
in front making it much less likely that I will tip it over like the Canon.
