It depends on how you define sound. If sound is the waves of compression transmitted through the air then there is a sound. If sound is the perception in a brain which has received a stimulus from the auditory nerves after they have been activated by those waves of compression and there is no brain with the attendent equipment to receive the perception then there is no sound.
