[bksvol-discuss] Re: Problem with Open Book

Actually, I have several on the checkout list right now that I think are near perfect except for the line breaks, but I can't be absolutely certain. After all, the two-step submit-proof process isn't for nothing. Anyone can miss something. However, there is one on the checkout list that should be very easy. It is very short and was actually a 13 page pamphlet. It is "Unity Statement on National Oppression, National Liberation and Socialist Revolution." It is hard for me to see how I could have missed much in that one. It has a hold on it for Yohandy. He is one of the new proofreaders who submitted it and it was bounced back and he never picked it up again. I know you fixed one that was like that and asked that the credit be given to the previous proofreader. Then there is another one that actually precipitated my recent communication with Bookshare in which it was made clear that my submissions were not acceptable in the form I am making them. It is actually checked out now. It was another one that was bounced back and it was picked up again, but I have been informed that the person who is working on it does not quite know what to do with it. It is "Lost traveler. If you want to I suppose you could contact him through Bookshare and rescue him on that one. There are some others up there that have never been checked out too, but I know that they have the same problem. I cannot be absolutely certain that I missed nothing in those though.

All right. If everything else is perfect and I don't have to proof it
ask Carrie to put it on the download list with a hold for me and I'll fix that problem.--orput in the comments section that the proofer can proof it but can leave those end-of-line symbols and then ask Carrie to put it on the download list for me to fic them.

No, I do not have Word. I think you
are talking about that 27 step process and that is what I
was unable to accomplish because I do not have the right
equipment. Besides the guy I was talking to from Bookshare
said that is not an ideal solution either because it only
eliminates about 80 to 90 per cent of the unwanted breaks.

If I understand you, your scans come out as ark files. Can
you convert them to Word/ Then you can save them
rtf files.
I can tell you how to get rid of the paragraph symbols at
the end of the lines in Word, in one fell swoop, if you are
careful. It it's what I did for a couple of your books when
Carrie put them on the download list for me to fix
