Elizabeth,  the difference between file formats are the control codes that 
define all layout and font information.  When you open any document K1K 
needs to convert it temporarely in KES format to manage its own display. 
Hence the conversion when opening an RTF file.

Does anyone know what k 9 is talking about when it talks about converting
