[bksvol-discuss] Page Numbers was [Re: Re: Chapter Headings]

As a proofreader, I would prefer that scanners leave the page numbers alone (except to correct poorly scanned page numbers). Page numbers make it much easier to identify missing pages or pages with missing page breaks.
One of the first things I do is to try to identify the page number of the first and last page and see if it matches my count. If it does, then I go on to other checks. If not, then I narrow down the discrepancy or discrepancies, and clear them up. 

Just my take on it.

I will only move page numbers where there are chapters titles. If it's ok to 
leave the rest at the bottom then I will do that. As you said no reason to

Happy New Year and hope things are going well with you and your family.
In that case I put the page numbers for the chapters at the top of the page, erase the page number at the bottom of the chapter pages and leave the other 
numbers at the bottom of the page, as it is my understanding that the
Bookshare tool will move them to the top of the page anyway. I also put
blank lines surrounding the page number of the chapter. Good luck!
