My understanding is that the publisher donated books come in epub format and not pdf. I'm wondering if he'd gotten a pdf from another site and was wanting to donate it to Bookshare. I don't believe that this is acceptable, though.

A friend of mine asked me about this. I was a little surprised to have the

Thank you.

Hi Cindy,

As far as I know, no one is proofreading pdf files from any publisher. Can
you elaborate, please? Where are people getting pdf files to proofread? I
believe that as things stand, what we submit for addition to the Bookshare
collection needs to be a scanned book. Please elaborate on what you're
asking, will you?

As far as how one would proofread a book without paragraph marks, I'd say
it'd be best to reject such a submission. It would take less work to rescan
the book than it would be to compare an OCRed copy to the hard copy to
insert paragraph marks. Just my opinion though.

I don'tknow if anyone saw this message or if it even got there. Question is
this: the PDF files from some publishers come out one paragraph. How do we
proofread those? Inquiring minds want know. I, personally, didn't know we
did. *smile* Someone asked me if it had come up before on this list.
